krāsa – color

(masculine)

When describing color of masculine things, majority of the time the word will end in “-s“. For example, melns suns – black dog. Suns – dog is a masculine word, therefore color before it will be masculine.

But there are some exceptions. For example “rozā” – pink will stay “rozā” for feminine and masculine.

Let’s learn a few basic colors:

melns – black

zils – blue

zaļš – green

oranžs – orange

rozā – pink

sarkans – red

dzeltens – yellow

balts – white

brūns – brown

tas ir melns – that is black (masculine)
